Where do you get your resilience?

“Resilient people are confident that they will succeed despite any setbacks they experiece. They have the faith necessary to take risks, and understand that failure is just another step toward success.” Author Unknown

I am often asked, "Where do you get your resilience and energy?"

I used to say, “This is just who I am. I’ve always been this way.”

Some things about aging are just not fair or fun, but one of the good things is perspective and getting to know yourself.

In this stage of my life when I am asked “Where do you get the resilience to keep going?” I know my answer- Faith.

I believe God could do something at any moment that could change the direction of my life, and I don’t want to miss it, so I keep moving forward. I believe that God will give me exactly what I need when I need it because I have learned through experience to rely on him to accomplish his purpose in me.

I live in a state of constant awareness that I have enough but also in a state of constant excited expectation of what is to come.

This is my journey and my story of how I remain resilient regardless of my circumstances or emotions. Yours may be different, or you may feel like you need some resilience. If that’s the case, comment or PM me! I’d love to hear where you get your resilience or share some of mine if you are in need.

But why am I writing about this on a blog on The Hub? Because without resilience this dream would not be a reality. This week we soft-launched The Hub. You see, by nature, I am a connector. As an RVer who has had the privilege of working with the RV Industry and the Campgrounds (Outdoor Hospitality), I saw the need to connect these two different but symbiotic parts of our outdoor experiences. It’s been a five-year journey. It has not always been easy. But it has been worth it.  My desire is that it will provide the tools for all of us to connect in a real-time, proactive way like we have never experienced in the past. When we connect, then we can communicate. Real communication is the beginning of everything. Not just the kind of communication we do as we pass each other on the streets or have at a quick gathering, but the kind that lets us get to know each other. Getting to each other, warts and all because none of us are perfect, is the second step that leads to what I believe the RV and outdoor hospitality industries need the most and that is COLLABORATION. Doesn’t it make perfect sense for the experts in building RVs to have an opportunity to collaborate with the experts in hosting not the RVs, but the RVers? Campground operators often know what is needed next before the RVer or the RV Industry. And because of that, when we connect, communicate, and collaborate, we can then INNOVATE together!

This is my dream! I hope that you find that participation in The Hub enrichs your life, your career, your travel journey, or your business. It has certainly enriched mine as we developed it.
